First day of March in Nozawa Onsen

by Mark on March 1, 2011

March Magic 2010 will history repeat in 2011 in Nozawa Onsen

Similar conditions today in Nozawa with overcast skies not a great day for photos so I am attaching one from March last season. If the weather forecast comes to fruition we could well be in for more of the same this year too so fingers crossed.

Definitely feels like it is getting colder outside and the snow quality was not bad down low this morning.

We did end up getting a decent fall of snow up high yesterday which was encouraging.

Visibility was pretty poor but the snow was quite nice up top.

Outlook is still for temps to drop and snow to fall for the rest of the week so we are waiting on that.

Then blue skies for the weekend. Also there is a Lantern Festival on Saturday night on the Hikage slopes with Fireworks and free give aways, should be a fun evening.

Some more good news today being the March 1st is the start of reduced price on Season Passes. They are now half price so just 30,000 Yen for Adults, 25,000 Yen for Seniors and just 20,000 Yen for Children. Lifts should run until May 8th snow permitting so still more than 2 months of sliding to enjoy!

We are also doing great deals on accommodation until the end of the season with good availability from mid March onwards. So if keen to come up for some Spring skiing and enjoy the food and onsens let us know, we look forward to having you.

Nozawa Onsen not a bad place to chill for a while
