Base up top: 190 cm    Temp Top; -6 Degrees

Base at bottom; 70 cm

New Snow since close: 5 cm

Weather; Overcast

Five centimetres of fresh has been recorded overnight in Nozawa Onsen. We currently have overcast conditions above the village and temperatures are cool at the summit, warmer down low.

Best areas of the resort will be the upper half if your hunting some fresh or throughout all groomers if your just cruising. If the village last night was any indication then the slopes will be busy today so pick your skiing areas carefully. New Year and the fire festival are the two busiest times in Nozawa Onsen.

Yesterday was a nice day with the clear weather although the off piste snow suffered down low with the warm conditions, becoming heavy. That being said, the snow remained in top notch condition in the Yamabiko area.

We still expect a moderate dump of snow starting early tomorrow morning and continuing over the next few days. Heaviest falls will occur tomorrow, but the best skiing will be had Thursday with colder temps and lighter winds.
